I'm a former bar star. I don't hide the fact from the guys I date now. But it seems that they are a little out off of me after they find out. I didn't do drugs or sleep around when I was barstaring it up. Just went out a lot. But it doesn't seem like they are listening to me when I tell my side of the story. Should I just stop telling them or should I continue to tell them even if it put them off?

It's about your resume right? Sometimes it best to leave certain things off like your barstar times. Sure it's good to be honest but I won't necessarily wave a flag that says "I love video games" when I first meet a girl.

She'll find that out and accept it later just like the guy (if he was worth a dam).

What do you specifically mean by saying you're a barstar?
If somebody specifically told me that, I would think of somebody that went out a lot every week, and had a lot of night one stands....cause at least, when my friends talk about a girl that is into that, we say, 'i got a barstar...'

If you went out clubbing and drinking and didn't do any of the one night stands, or maybe just a couple, why are you calling yourself a barstar? why don't you say I used to go clubbing a lot? Or were you a 'professional' barstar? I just don't get it why you're specifically calling yourself a barstar.

When girls tell me, 'in my college days, I used to go clubbing at least 2 times a week', I don't think much of that cause hell, we did that too. However, if they tell me, oh, I used to be a barstar, then I'm thinking, 'so this girl likes to get down', but again, that's because in my circle of friends, barstar has a bad sexual negative connotation.

Guys are schizophrenic - they're probably simultaneously turned on and turned off by the idea because of what went on during your barstar days. They probably imagine all sorts of things no matter what how you explain it. Ultimately, a guy who is uncomfortable with it is insecure and paranoid. I think you should always be yourself and it sounds like you're comfortable with your past and have no regrets about what you did during those days.

If you're unsure of how a guy would react, I guess wait a bit to tell him so that he gets to know you well, but ultimately, you want someone who is strong enough and mature enough to like you and your past.
