The "he'd treat you differently than other girls" answer

Whenever a girl asks the question "how do I know he likes me?" there's ALWAYS a guy who says "you know he likes you if he treats you differently than the way he treats other girls." my question is, does it also apply when a guy treats you negatively? like, if the guy is nice to all girls and talks to all of them but is mean to one specific girl and talks to/flirts with all her friends but her? but still tries to get her attention and make eye contact with her. would he like her? and why would he treat her that way?

I'm not sure what his reason for acting like that is, but treating someone mean isn't a way to show you like them. This isn't normal behavior, in my opinion. I wouldn't have anything to do with him. You don't deserve to be treated like that.

It MIGHT mean that he likes her, but it also means that he is a loser who doesn't deserve that girl's time of day
