Me and My boyfriend broke up recently after being together for a month. We have been friends for 4 years. I had felt he still was in love with his ex and she wasn't backing off. Well we never exactly told her we were dating because she would keep bugging his family and might just end up doing something stupid. But she had an idea we were together but not completely (I guess she only knew we liked each other.) She left on vacation the day before we broke up. Anyways, when we broke up he told me that he loves her more then me and he didn't want me to think he used me when he breaks up with me when she comes back (I didn't really pay any attention to that I was just shocked by him telling me he loves her more then me because when I asked him if he still has feelings for her he told me those feelings were dead.) But I understood and we broke up (a mature break-up). After he went towards the direction of his house and I went towards mine. He called and we talked and later he asked me if he can continue to say I love you to me. I told him him no there is no point no more. Recently, he told me that he slept with her the day she left. And as for me I didn't argue about it (I really don't know why maybe because I knew that it happen.) The day she left on vacation, at night when we spoke he didn't stop saying I love you to me. Then the next day before we met we spoke and when he told me I love you and I told him me too (my sister was next to me, I am very shy person.) But he told me he want to hear me say I love you and didn't rest until he heard my sister ask me something and realized I didn't say it because of her.
What I want to know why would any guy want to continue saying I love you to a girl after they broke up and mostly when he told her he loves someone else more then her. Also, after sleeping with her why would you say I love you. He had decided to break up with me the night before we actually broke up so why would the next day would you say I love you.
he wants to have his cake and eat it too. he wants to be with his ex girlfriend but he's not ready to get rid of you. its an extremely selfish thing that he's doing and you need to be the strong one and have self respect and end things with him as even friends I think.
