so my girlfriend of almost six years has decided she wants to take a brake. she has also said that she needs time. but she talks to me everyday. what do I do?i love her so much and wanna get back with her.
All you can really do is be supportive and give her the time that she's asked for. If you don't know why she wanted to take a break, try to find out; if you do know why, be conscious of it and if possible try to change it. Sometimes even when we want to take a break, we still need that other person to be a part of our lives.
Without more details, a good answer is hard to come up with. I'm sorry you are in the situation you are in. You could ask her what is making her feel like she needs some time. She could be feeling insecure or afraid of commitment or she may just need some time to find herself. If you are fine talking to her when she calls, then talk to her - if she is calling you it is because she wants to talk to you. Ask her what you can do to make this time easier on her. Let her know you'll be there for her. Be her best friend (if that's what she wants). Only time will show you the outcome of all of this, until then be supportive. Also... I will probably rant on this more times than I can imagine on this website... but I hate the word "break." Make sure both of you know the "rules" of this "break." I always prefer it when some one says they just need some time and space to themselves (that's how married couples do it successfully)... but a "break" is too close to a "break up" and not knowing what either of you can and cannot do during this break can turn it into a break up. I don't know if it is too late to tell her (only you can be the judge of that), but you should let her know (or any other girl in the future who wants to go on a break), that you can still be together while you give her some time and space to herself.
