Is my ex still interested? What's up with his behavior?

I've noticed that my ex has been gazing at my lips, boobs, butt and just checking me out all over a lot, when me and him chat or see each other in person. Does that mean he's still interested in me? Or is he just realizing what he's lost and misses me? He never really would check me out in as noticeable of ways before and I was just curious about why he is acting like this because he will just stare at certain areas of my body for a while and it's just really noticeable.

Also he still hugs me real close and rubs my back a little when he hugs me and that just doesn't seem like something a friend would do unless they were interested in being more than friends. He never hugged me so close before we started dating so that's why it's odd him hugging so close. I'm not really bothered by him acting like this since I still love him even though he hurt me bad but I was just curious about this. So what does his behavior mean?
