I'm pretty much at a loss right now. My ex and I broke up over a year ago. We were fighting a lot and he basically said we don't get along enough to have a healthy relationship. He is my boss, so we still see each other on a daily basis. Anyway, he still has not started dating, he still admits he loves me and misses me but still says we just don't get along.
Well, for EVERY holiday since, he's gotten me gifts (A LOT OF GIFTS) and when he goes of vacation he always bring me back something really nice.
His family really wants us to be together and his mom always talks to him, but he tells her that he doesn't want to hurt me any more than he already has and doesn't want to "try" if there's a chance it may not work again, cause it'll hurt me more.
But I'm trying to figure out why after all this time, he hasn't moved on and he still talks to me and treats me the same. I don't know how to get him back and how to prove things can get better and that I've tried really hard to work on myself?

It sounds like the gifts are him trying to make amends for what he has done, for instance hurt you. Since he is sticking by the fact that he doesn't want to hurt you and you guys don't get along as to why you two haven't got back together maybe he just does not want to.

Like Juneflower19 stated, bring up the subject (preferable outside of work) and ask him what he thinks of another try at your relationship. This guy needs to realize fighting happens in ALL relationships, even the healthy ones. Sometimes fights help couples work out problems.

It sounds like you have done all that you can possibly do in this situation, it is relying on him.

I hope this helped!

Start talking to him about it...If it still interests him, he will see what you guys can do if not then he will leave you alone...I don't know what else to say.
