What is the hardest part about staying friends with your ex?

HECKS No. Well it actually depends on the individuals really. I tried hard to be "friends" with my ex. But than I couldn't stand knowing that he was with another girl. He told me straight up when he broke up with her he was all happy to be single. Telling me how their relationship was mostly lust and stress didn't last too long. Now me and him are in the process of getting back together. I'm praying I don't get my heart broken again though.

I think it really depends on the people in regards as to if you can be friends with an EX.

I really don't think that its possible and I think that it is pointless. Here are a couple of reasons why I think that is so

1) If you can't clear away your past, it makes it a heck of a lot harder to find someone new

2) You can be holding onto them without even knowing it

3) You have to be emotionally strong when you find out that they get a new partner

4) You both could be in denial for a really long time

Good things about being friends with your ex

1) You know and understand each other well

2) You have been through a lot together

3) You can be mature and move on and live happily ever after.

But with that I said I still go with the first option. Which runs along the lines of. You broke up for a reason, and now its time to move on and give someone else a chance.

I think that the hardest part (for me personally) was when he dated the first girl after me. We were friends and talked to each other a lot so I thought that I was completely over him but that hit me like a semi truck. I didn't want to imagine him kissing and hugging and laughing with another girl. After awhile it got easier and they broke up anyway but now when he talks about other girls I don't care. Although it seems like he likes to tell me girls that he likes, but he sways off the subject when I tell him about guys I like. Oh well, I'm just glad I've moved on to better things. :)

I agree I have stayed really close friends with my ex and the hardest part is with them dating some1 else especially when the person is an asshole and doesn't treat her rite and I know she is being hurt more and more everyday
