My boyfriend and I broke up 2 weeks ago after 3 years together. We are in a long distance relationship because he's in the military and we're growing apart. He ignored me, then broke up with me and told me that he doesn't want to talk, but that he's still in love with me. (? ) Anyway, he texted me after two weeks I guess to give me an update on what he was doing (not sure why) and I did not answer because I didn't have anything to say. My birthday is this week, if he does call or text, should I answer to show I appreciate the call or ignore to prove a point?

Answer him. My dad was in the military and in there its hard to get on the phone one time I didn't get to talk to him for about 2-3 months once

I think you should answer his call or text because you two aren't going out but still its a nice thing that he's probably calling to wish you happy birthday. Now, if he starts talking about your relationship, then just listen and tell him how you feel about you two breaking up. Be honest with him.

Toughie! I went through the same thing with my military man. Even though he says he doesn't want to talk, ask him if you can have one final conversation for closure. Find out the whys and whats and that he really does still love you. If it's mutual, maybe suggest trying to be friends again, and maybe work things out? Best of luck to you I hope it works out!

Advice: How To Break Up The Right Way
Does it ever annoy you that you're single?
random-ren asked 20 days ago

Yes, most of the time! I really wish I had a boyfriend/girlfriend!

A little, because I feel left out.

Not really...

Nope! I have too much fun being single!

What's there to be annoyed about?

Describe your ideal first date; Where do you go? What do you wear? How does the date end?
I'd pick her up and we'd go to a Sushi restaurant around town that's far enough away that we can have a decent discussion about ourselves on the way there, but not too far that it feels like we're waiting to get there. We'd talk about what we do in our free time, and what makes us laugh. I'd drive her home while we switch of listening to our favorites kinds of music. Hug is fine, maybe a kiss.

Afterwards..what will your date know about you?
I'm a very fun and outgoing person, and do and wear whatever I feel like and not what everyone else is doing. My life revolves techno and trance music, so you at least have to show interest in it, though not necessarily like it. It can be a bit awkward at first if I've never actually talked to you before the date but once we break the ice I'm a really fun guy to talk to and hang around with.

Would you date me?
