Guys - How can an ex say that he still loves you and only wants a future with you but be with someone else. Surely they would finish with that person and do everything they can to win their ex back! I'm been in this situation recently my ex telling me things and he hasn't followed it through!

"I love you and want to spend my future with you" + "I'm sleeping with someone else and lying about it" = I'm too flaky and selfish to be anyone's boyfriend/girlfriend. Dump me and never speak to me again.
He's a jerk, who has no/doesn't respect boundaries. First of all, he's lying to someone, either you or the other woman. Lying is a show-stopper. You'll never be able to believe anything he tells you.
My not-so-humble advice? Move on. As soon as you can. Try to hurt him in the process.

Could mean that he isn't being honest. Only other reason I can think of is that you have shot him down so he's moved on for that reason?
I've only said I wanted to spend my life with one person, she shot me down.. it was the worst rejection ever.. so I moved on immediately. Made her think my feelings weren't real, they were I just couldn't handle the way things went so needed to get her out of my system asap.
I don't know he was the one that broke up with me then contacts months and months later telling me all this then when I asked him to meet up with me to sort it out he said no cause he don't think it would work. That's weird. My guess is maybe he's had a fight with his current girlfriend and his thoughts have gone back to you.. maybe in some weird way to get back at his girlfriend who knows. I would just ignore him, find someone who really wants to be with you and won't mess you around. - 25 days ago

Come on, don't listen to his words, observe his actions towards you. He can say anything to get you hooked still at him but if his actions says differently, then he's not so in love with you afterall and if he is why would in the world he breaks up with you? He's just bs-ing you. Cut all ties with him.
Like I said to him he can say all the loved up sh*t but actions speak louder than words. He wouldn't even text or phone me it was all over e-mail. He's just messing with your head. It would be best for you to make an effort to get over him. If he says sweet things and does nothing about it, that can't be love. Love is more than just words. He could just be trying to keep you around in case this present relationship he's in doesn't work out OR he may just want to boost his ego. Move on ... please.
Yeh I told him all that and he still said he meant what he said. He told me he's worried I will reject him if we get back and that he doesn't think I will be able to forgive him. It's so sad and cruel him playing mind games with me and he's still in a relationship with someone else. I must mean so little to him.
