And positive results happened? I don't think I can take back my ex but I still love him. I hate him for lying to me though and still saying he didn't when I have physical evidence. I'm ignoring him for now because I'm really hurt (and really am mad) but I don't know if I would give him a second chance. Is it possible a person could change because they know they were wrong?
When I took back my ex (she had cheated on me with my best friend) it was a learning mistake.
Positives: - Comfort (we had been dating 3.5 yrs) - Knowing the uncertain (We knew each other very well) - Assistance (I was recovering from a bad car accident) - Fun times (We went out to dinner, etc)
Negatives: - Jealousy (Other guys) - Hatred (We grew apart in a negative way) - Being used (My hospitality was taken advantage of)
The lists only continue, but here are a few points that give you a perspective of my own. If I could go back in time, I would have chosen to move on. With taking her back, I feel more attatched to her than when we weren't dating; this only makes my heart hurt more and feel considerable pain. In your shoes, I would consider everything else before you think about taking him back.
That affair was going on for almost 3 yrs. before I even knew she existed. I found out about her in 2001, it took me a year to confront her as the marriage counselor had advised me to do because was very physically sick at the time. When I confronted her & her reply was "well it wasn't much of a marriage to begin with: we'd been married for at least 20 years than, I filed for a legal seperation. Then he changed real quick. I gave my hubby a second chance. He apologized & seems genuinely sorry that he cheated. I took him back & it was uncomfortable for both of us at first. He also realized he was going to have to earn my respect for him again
How long has it been since that happened? I don't think I will take him back but I do love him... I first have to see if he gave up his ex and just saw his problems and learned... But I know of people who do take back people and they supposedly changed... I want to believe someone could because you can either choose to or not.
