My girlfriend and I have been together for over a year and I asked her to marry me and she said yes. We have been living together for months and everything was going great for us. Then we got into a little argument. Then she didn't come home and stayed at her grandmothers house and come home the next day and decided to break up with me. She says that she needs space and needs to find her self. Then like a week or 2 later she said she wanted to be with me. Everything was going great then like 2 or 3 days later she said she just wants to be friends. She said she was going to give me a second chance but she needs time. But now she isn't acting her self. And Everyone, me and her family say that she isn't acting her self. She really doesn't call me anymore, only when she needs something. I don't know what to do or think anymore.

From the surface it looks like it is the proposal that has "scared" her off a little bit (even though she said yes) and now she's anxious because she doesn't know what she's gotten herself into.

Judging from your age - 18-24, some people may still indeed be searching for themselves and their identity. I think although she loves this relationship and loves you, there are more work to be done before there will be more certainty and security in the marriage.
Retreating to an elder like her grandmother could be signs of asking for advice and guidance on this kind of thing.

But I have to say the break up is strange. Having and asking for space is a sign of wanting to step back to look at the big picture better, but you could gently ask her what she's really feeling and thinking about this, what are her concerns, show her that you will be patient if she's feeling bumpy, and this will give you a better picture of the situation as well.

Good luck, lovebirds :)

Does it ever annoy you that you're single?
random-ren asked 19 days ago

Yes, most of the time! I really wish I had a boyfriend/girlfriend!

A little, because I feel left out.

Not really...

Nope! I have too much fun being single!

What's there to be annoyed about?
