How can I get my ex boyfriend back?

see the thing is.you were with him for a year being nothing but abusive at times.and you never thought about changing until AFTER you lost him.so now do you really think he currently believes that? My answer is NO.

If you are serious about changing then be his friend prove it by being his friend in a NON ABSUIVE way.and in time if you continue to change and be non abusive.you may regain his trust.but seriously girl.ya shouldn't be laying your hands on anyone.that's just messed up.

Well, it seems my situation is somewhat similar, but not so much.
My ex broke up with me about 6 weeks ago because we didn't get along well enough.but in actuality, it's because I am a bitter person. I was in one bad relationship after the next (NOT including him) and my way of "protecting" myself was to be be mean to him before he could do it to me. I never hit him, and never treated him bad.but I was in a bad mood alot. I lost him because of it and until the day he said it was over, I didn't realize how stupid I was. I miss him and love him with all my heart, and pray to God every day that he comes back to me.but in the meantime, I realize (somewhat a blessing in disguise) that I have to change.not just to win him back, but for myself. I can't go thru life the way I am and it seems like you can't either.
You said "I will change only if he gives me one more chance".you can't think like that. You have to WANT to change in order to change and it HAS to be for you or it'll never last. I know you feel like you have to change for him, and if you want him back, you probably will have to change, but you can't just say it.you have to prove you've changed and unless you really do and really WANT to, he'll know it's not real. Trust me.I am working on my change every day and it's a battle, but in the end It'll be worth it.
As far as the calling and begging goes, STOP! I did the same thing for a MONTH.Just cried and begged and tried to convince him I would change and how we belong together.turns out I just pushed him farther away by doing that.and he TOLD me that! I've stopped calling him and contacting him (as much as possible since we work together) and I'm working on changing because I can't get him back any other way and I don't think you can either.
Just work on you and if he loves you, he'll come back one day if it's meant to be.

I didn't realize that lots of people are going through the same sh*t that am going through till I joined here. I will just tell you the same advice I was told before which I have been doing for 4 days now (not sure if it's gonna work) but let us just give it a try together. first I will tell you the three mistakes you are doing which I was doing also and then I will tell you the three things you should do instead.
First: Stop begging him because it means that you didn't change you are only pushing him away
Second: Stop calling and texting him because it shows him that you are not even trying to change
Three: Stop crying while you should be planning to get him instead
I will not tell you keep yourself busy because I hate this word, I won't even tell you give up on him and keep moving on in ur life because am not going to do it, I want him and I will wait for him so let us just do this three things together:
First: You have to wait at least two weeks before sending him another message or even a call
Second: I don't guarantee he would call you within those two weeks but if he didn't I have that letter that was sent to me which I will pass to you after two weeks that might get him interested to call you or contact you (my two weeks didn't pass but I will tell you the results when I try it)
Third: If he came back (I really hope so and pray for it) just be ready so start changing whatever you want to change from now and even change a little extra few things for yourself ( try to talk to different people or read articles to know the real you and how to change the bad aspects and improve the good ones.) so when he gets back he will realize you worth a second chance.
