Although slowly recovering from a break up I have never been given the reason why it ended only to be left searching for questions why.
We had been together for 6 months and the break up was not over an argument or anything the contact just stopped! I gave it a week then contacted him via texts and no reponse. A week later I called at his home whilst going to work and spoke with him. His feelings were mixed and I never got the answer why he ended it. He just said you are intelligent, work it out. Although he tried to kiss me and get close I just said don't do this unless you mean it. He pulled away and said you will never know will you.
It has been 4 weeks now and sure I have tried to get him back but he won't respond to any communication so I have finally let go as I this is the only thing I can do.
I just want to ask guys why do you think he has ended it this way, which to me is cruel in leaving a person to wonder why.

i can't tell you why he did it, but I do think that if you wanna get over him you have to know why he broke up. otherwise u'll always wonder what you did wrong and whether there was sth you could have done sth to make him stay. so you should ask him, either in person or over a letter, that if you meant anything to him, that he should give you a reason so that you can move on. I'm in a similar situation, its been over now for almost 5 months, no contact for 3 months and although he gave me a reason he made many excuses as well, so I just keep on wondering whether he told me evrything and so now I am about to ask him to tell me straight what made him leave me. you should do the same, but in a rational way, and not trying at the same time to get him back or sth. but the way he treated you shows anyway that you deserve better.
Thanks for your advice I do deserve better. I have asked for reasons why so I can get closure and no response. His treatment of me is based on mind games. I have tried and it is his loss. For some weird unexplanable reason my ex is perhaps not the person I thought he was and I do not doubt for one moment he will come back. If he did? then he has some serious explaining to do.
