When you break up with a girlfriend, do you like it if they continue to contact you to talk or do you like it when they play hard to get and don't contact you at all?

Update: I was not the cause of the breakup/ he was/Cheater    7 months ago

It depends on circumstances of the break up.. If you decide to be friends or it was a mutual break up or something than call him, if you did something t cause the break up then don't contact him at all.

I know you asked this question for the guys.. but I really wanted to say something =) I would say that when you breakup that you should not initiate any contact with each other until things have settled down (usually that means never)

The bad thing about contacting someone you have just broken up with, is that you relive all these fiery emotions that came fresh out of the oven. Not only this, you are feeling extremely vulnerable at this point in time.

One of the things that happens with the ending of relationships is that both partners have to go through the process of accepting what has happened. If you continue to contact them during this process at the back of your mind, you are still hoping that "maybe" it will all work out.

So my advice would be to not talk to them, until you know within yourself that you have gotten over him =)

And by that time, I'm sure there will be another more interesting guy who deserves your attention anyways

lovebird01 You make some good points. I've always found it hard to be friends with someone you break up with. - 7 months ago
