Just don't make him jealous by using another guy. That's cruel to the second guy, and your ex might think less of you, or that you never really cared about him to begin with if you so eagerly throw yourself on some new guy.

Ignore him, get really hot (work out,etc ) hang out with friends and have a great time (even if he's on your mind) and act like you could give a damn. If you ever see him, just act like you could care less and never bring up the past. Because hate is not the worst emotion, instead, not even caring at all tops that list.
I have received great advice from this site. Ignore the hell out of him. Drives them nuts wondering how you could possibly live without him. Don't call text anything. He will call. Promise. Stay busy and occupy your time.
