One of my ex-boyfriends is a complete jerk. He was an asshole through our short relationship so I ended it and moved on. Apparently, he has a major case of amnesia and forgot about the messed up things he did to me and is now trying to be "nice".
How should I react to that? Should I be civil and just ignore him? Be a total bitch to him? Or should I let him have another chance at friendship (please don't say that LOL). I think he wants to get back with me but that will never happen.
Update: Which way of handling it will really bother and hurt him the most?

Next time he calls, offer to meet him out for drinks, coffee, or dinner. Show up to your meeting place with another dude attached to your arm, preferably one who's a male-model, or at least looks like one. If he really just wants to be "nice" then he won't mind the company, but if he's interested in something else, guaranteed he'll LOSE his interest faster than a fat kid pushes out spent cake.
From reading the other answers, I think everyone is on the same page here. You ended it and moved on, so keep it that way. There's no cure for being an ass and totally ignoring him will work best
Ignoring him will bother him the most. People who act like jerks (people like me on some days) do it to get a rise out of someone else. Not fueling the fire is the way to go.
I know everyone says to ignore him. And I'd probably agree knowing the LEVEL of asshole and jerk that he was. But maybe he's trying to be nice other than for selfish reasons. I know, I know, sounds completely crazy. But think of it this way, if you talk to him once or twice just to catch up and see what his intentions are, if they ARE what we all think. Then you get to have fun with him :D and tell him that he hasn't changed, so he should move on.
I would just ignore him. If you try to be friends he might get the wrong idea. He is feeling guilty and he is feeling the loss of you. Just ignore him maybe he will go away. If he doesn't get the picture tell him you have the amnesia and don't have a clue who he is.
I know I probably won't get a lot of true answers but, are you guilty of treating your significant other badly? Do you do things to irritate them on...

What is your favorite outfit for a night out with friends?
Tight black jeans, a tight black shirt, with a white tank top underneath. Topped with a comfy zip up sweatshirt.
How do you style your hair and do your make-up?
I wear eye-liner and some blush but not a lot. I have a shoulder length hair cut that's usually straight with lots of volume. Some of my girlfriends call it the "rock star" kind hair. hahaha if that helps
As Jane Fonda once said, "A good many dramatic situations begin with screaming." I couldn't agree with her more. Any spider larger than my thumbnail can get a hair-raising shriek out of me. Same...
Break-ups can be devastating. When they occur, we often get trapped between a desire to fix the situation and a wish to make the painful feelings pass. A lot of advice is given about letting it go,...
First of all, do not listen to what the guy said. He's wrong. If you want to break up with a girl honesty works, like many girls have already said. A few rules though: 1) No breaking up by phone,...
WOW.. Same situation here. Why should we care about their feelings but they (guys) don't bother ours at all? Ahh, yeah.. I almost forgot that we girls, are the most caring creatures ever made.
