Text messaging isn't really meant for conversations, just quick comments. I might go back and forth texting someone, but I don't have serious discussions that way. It's pretty impersonal.
Both are good,we text if we are busy or if its idle chitchat but phone mostly everyday to to talk properly. Its nice to get a text to say they are thinking of you,or random little thoughts they are having, but its no substitute for hearing his voice.
I don't like long text conversations, I feel if you're gonna text back and forth a million times you might as well just call the person. Plus if it's a guy I'm into I'd much rather hear their voice/laugh...
i don't mind phone conversations if there's actually something to be said. I only have one friend (a guy) who I can talk to on the phone without a bunch of silent moments... if there's not actually going to be a conversation though, I prefer a quick text. also, if I'm around my mom I prefer a text cause I don't like her listening in on everything I have to say (i'm about to start college and she still looks through my phone to see who I've been talking to), but if I'm around my dad, I prefer to be called cause he doesn't care what I say or who I say it to and he hates it when I text in front of him.. (parents are divorced so they think they have to be complete opposites)... in short, it depends on the situation and on the girl. a lot of times I actually just prefer IM conversations on yahoo, Facebook, or MySpace cause that way I can see what's been said w/out having to scroll through every message, and there isn't that constant tone/vibration of my phone receiving a message.
