I'm just wondering - and I know every guy is different - but how long do you normally wait to contact a girl you've just met that you're interested in? You've spent most of the evening hanging out with her and chatting and you ask for her number. Do you play the whole 3 day "rule" or do you just get in touch when you know you've got time to meet up?
I know this is going to depend on each person's individual life but I'd just like a general idea :)
Update: Also, sometimes guys just never call when they ask for a girl's number. If you've done that, why don't you call? And if you're not interested then why ask in the first place?

Update: Ok, no one has any insight it seems...what about this then? If I met someone on Friday night and I still haven't heard from them by now, am I likely to hear from them at all?

Usually if a guy asks for a girl's number, he would contact you the next day or may be before it. By your update I come to know that its been many days and I reckon that he met some other girl by now(I hope not!) or he is busier than President of the US!

Yeah, but also the inital interaction too. You always want to come across as fun and playful. Even if I get a number of an attractive girl, If the interaction was boring and dull texting her becomes a chore. You cannot tell at all what a guy will do. Guys are happy to have a deep and meaningful 6 hour conversation with a girl they've just met and then never speak to them again. Guys live in the moment. Don't sit up waiting for him to call. If you want to talk to him just call him. He will want to catch up or he won't, simple. It's not a personal thing, he might not even remember you or just be really busy and be happy you called because he didn't have time to.
