So I am trying out these online dating sites, but I am not sure how to get a girls attention via email. I know girls get tons of emails from guys online so it is hard to make yourself stand out. Plus what am I suppose to say when there isn't much in their profile about them? Most profiles are the same. "im this, that and some...looking for this, that and some." Its so general. What should I say to get the ball rolling?

What Guys Said

I wrote a book about this very topic, so I can assure you that I can relate to your confusion!

In brief, this is what you need to focus on:
1) Your profile photo.

Post three photos - One where you look AMAZING (ask all your friends until you have the BEST one.), one where you're smiling with friends, and one where your doing something interesting (fishing? skying? with your 5 cats?) This tells her how you look, that you actually leave your basement to spend time with friends, and that you have passions.

2) Your Profile Name.

Women actually care that your name is normal. Don't name yourself "DarthVadarxxx3d" or "PorsceLover" because they'll think you're a dork. Just be normal like "Mike_Thompson."

3) Your Profile Description.

Your writing tells her EVERYTHING. If you're too lazy to write proper punctuation or spelling, she'll know that you're too lazy to satisfy her in bed. This is true, so listen carefully!

Talk about yourself honestly, don't be generic, and try to be fun. Just don't be goofy. That kills a woman's interest asap. No matter how hot you are.

DONT talk down about yourself, "I'm over weight and it makes me shy." She doesn't want to know your insecurities. It just makes you sound pathetic. Don't do this.

And you MUST talk about what you want in her. Be specific. "I would prefer if you're short, cute, and funny. I also have a strange preference for Red Heads. I think it's because I love the smell of your freckles. I'm unsure. ;) "

This tells her that you're a man who know what he wants, and usually gets it.

4) Your opening email.

You need to hook her attention enough that she's forced to respond. This is the key. If she doesn't reply, you can't get her on a date. It's that simple.

It's better for her to be upset with your message, then bored with it.

Make it brief, make it sound sincere, or make it sound fun.

Here's a fun one that gets her playing with me:

"Hmmm, let's see ... 1) You're short - 5 points. 2) You're cute: 5 points. 3) You're bratty: minus 10 points. Crap. Any suggestions as to how I can break this tie!? ;) ~ Robby"

or

"Rumor has it you're curiously cute, but I've never been one to believe the gossip of others... is there any truth to what I've been hearing? ;) ~ Robby"

5) Make your Subject line Long

This is magic because she might have 30 emails in front of her, and her eye will always go to the longest subject line. This is a HUGE secret of getting your emails read.

She's used to seeing this:

"Hi"
"Hey"
"God morning!"
"hi"
"You're beautiful!"
"Howdey"
"My mom said that women prefer longer subject lines, is she right?."
"Hey"
"Hi"
"Hello ;)"

See? Make it long, and make it a question.

I hope this gets you started,

~ Robby
