After 2 months I think it's an adequate time to put the question to him. After all, you don't want to waste time with someone you don't have a future with.
Don't do it! Don't initiate the "Talk". It will scare him off. One month is not a long time so be very patient. However, please DO date and keep your options open. Men have issues with labels. Women can be too hasty in acquiring one.

Well I would say you should ask him now! tell him that you like him and ask him how he feels about you. Seeing as you guys aren't going out right now, it would be good to confirm your relationship with him first before jumping to conclusions that you two are going out. But I am pretty sure that if you two have been talking for a month now, then in no time you will be officially together, just make sure to confirm with him first!...:)
If you're not sure that you're dating, then you're not, you're probably just friends.
If you want to maybe up your relationship, then you need to talk to him about that. There is really no set time to do that, just whenever you feel comfortable. Be prepared for things to go either way though.
