Do you think your sign really has any affect on you, your compatibility with others, your moods, etc.?

The woman I'm in love with is a Scorpio, and she definitely lives up to her reputation - she is very sexy and very good in bed! If I had a choice, I would always date a Scorpio woman or an Aries perhaps because we are very compatible! (I'm an Aries by the way!)

I have to think that it doesn't, because I've known others with my sign, and they all had different situations.
I wouldn't pass up a great girl because of her sign, nor would I refuse a great girl because of her sign.

I don't say that I "believe" in the whole predicting the future and what have you; however, I tend to get a kick out of comparing people of certain signs to the description of a sign's personality traits. I do it just to test and assess it all. I've noticed that some people are an identical match of their sign's personality whereas another person may show only a few traits. It's entertainment, to me. I wouldn't let it be your guide for anything though.

Question Asker No way. I see it as entertainment. Just like you said, it's interesting to see how similar some people are to their signs and how signs match up in reality.
Thanks for your answer! =) - 5 months ago

Most of what you read in astrology books is bogus. It affects our moods because we let it and same goes for any advice you can get from horoscopes.

But I have done some research on the Myan civilization and their calender was biased on the stars and its accuracy is unreal. I believe that on some level and with some mathematical help the stars can tell us more than we think.

Btw I don't think the world will end Dec 24, 2012, but I do think something exciting will happen around that time.

WindChaser I am skeptical about astrology and also believe that most of it is bogus. However, there are hidden secrets, equations, and laws in the universe that we have yet to discover. So I think it's best to keep our minds open to the possibility of "predicting" the future or the phenomena in every day life by reading the stars, plants, and galaxies. - 5 months ago

The descriptions of the signs "fit" because we want them to. Flip open a book and read any signs description as if it were you own and you will find yourself agreeing.

I think the descriptions of a sign can be quite accurate, but I don't follow any of the horoscopes or advice for behavior.

Astrology is like a game; it is not reality. I wouldn't base anything I do on it. Its good for entertainment, but that's about it.

Doesn't matter one iota. Sorry to everyone who does believe in it, but that's the truth the way I see it. If it were true, there would be people with only twelve (? ) types of personalities. That would be boring. Fortunately that isn't the case. We're more the sum of our experiences than the sum of the star I was born under that just 'happened' to have everything to do with my life and that told me what I should be doing or how I should be acting (sorry for the sarcasm, but can you blame me? It had nothing to do with my life before I heard about it, yet I should apparently be acting a certain way that I definitely don't). You choose your personality in the way you react to the choices given to you and the way that you have lived your life. A star group that's light years away hasn't got any power over me or my life. Sorry. I'm living MY life, not someone (or in this case, something's) else's.

Question Asker Lol. Thanks for your speedy and direct answer :-) - 5 months ago
Answerer We are who we chose to be. I am not a different person because I was born in the beginning of the month as opposed to later in the month. Our personality, our beliefs, or morals are all what we choose them to be. You have a temper because you let things bother you and you choose to get angry. You're a caring, loving, or unselfish person because you choose to be. Horoscopes and astrology are just newspaper fillers and entertainment. - 5 months ago

I'm a Librian and the characteristics of my star sign are really really me. It's unbelievable!

But.
When it comes to actual daily horoscopes, I find they can be a bit hit or miss.

I study astrology and am convinced of it. I don't study study horoscope predictions but I study the natal horoscope which gives insight to your character.

I suspect many people who dismiss astrology don't have a solid basis of what it is--they have never studied it, so how can they be qualified to give an opinion on it.

Superstrength79 They could have been born on the cusp of two signs as well, and they are looking at the wrong personality description. - 5 months ago
Jarett I'm sorry but I disagree. Your character is not based on a bunch of big flaming balls of gas millions of miles away. Your character is what you choose it to be. People are not a liar or a thief because of the stars. People are thieves or liars because they choose to be. People just don't like to be responsible for their actions and like to blame stuff on other things that are out of their control. - 5 months ago

I've studied astrology, and I can say that it's a lot of fun, and maybe you'll even come to some sort of better understanding of yourself and others, but when it comes to predicting the future and taking advice - NO.
