ok sad truth. I have never dated anyone, never kissed anyone, and have only been asked out a few times. Thing is I'm perfectly fine with this. I've met guys I like but I haven't ever been really interested in dating. I don't have a lot of guy friends, and I've never really been close to anyone, even my parents. I'm a little self-concious so I know I'm not ready to have any type of relationship. My friends any family are always telling me that I need to find a boyfriend, that's usually the first thing they ask me when I talk to them: "find a boy yet?" and I'm kind of sick of it. Is there something wrong with me? How do I get them to back off?

Simply tell them that when you're ready to start dating, you will...and leave it at that.

Nothing is wrong. Just tell them you want to establish your career first. I assume you are in college.

Question Asker Ya I'm in college, but I've always been this way and its actually gotten worse now that I'm in college, like dating is more important to them than actual school. - A month ago

Just tell them that you're a lesbian. Explaining to them that you don't want one will probably not do, so just tell them this, who cares if they think of you as a lesbian?

How's this for a rejoinder? "You have enough boy-craziness for both of us."

Actually, not too good.
It's getting into a competition with those who say these hurtful things.
We need to figure a way to take it up a notch to make it non-competitive.
"I have carefully thought out my priorities. Relationships are not at the top. Please respect that."

I'd like to follow this. I'd appreciate it if we could be friends.

Question Asker Thanks for the response. I've tried just saying that I'm not looking when they ask me but they seem so obsessed with it. Even guy friends and people I work with do it. I just laugh it off and ignor it usually, but they're not getting the hint. - A month ago
