Because he wants to enjoy Zombieland, not think about his sweaty mitt in yours the whole f***ing time. It's not always about constant physical contact, especially when he knows you'll be right next to him the whole time anyway.
Not everyone wants that level of physical contact. I have dated guys who would love to hold hands with me as much as possible and others that like their space with some hand holding.
He might be nervous and doesn't want to make the wrong move. Not holding hands during a movie isn't so bad. If he didn't touch you at all during the date then it's time to worry.
