Personally, it does not affect me at all. In fact, I truly believe that if a guy likes a girl enough, it should not change what he thinks about the girl he cares about. I think being able to filter out what your parents think negatively about someone you are dating is a strong indicator that you are mature enough to date and mature enough to make good decisions independently.
