I like this guy and we were hitting it off for a while but now he seems to be distancing himself. Why? He won't ever tell me how he feels because he says he doesn't like to show it because its a sign a weakness! But I tell him i can't read his mind. Why is it that guys are too scared? I'm so confused! Should I back off and play hard to get or keep trying to get it out of him?

This is not a simple question. Many factors influence how guys act. I've seen some guys that are so weak, girls walk all over them. So best policy for many guys is to act tough; that's just what they have picked up either from past experiences, or how they been raised. Now, granted, if you're wondering how he feels about you, then, indeed, guys have to come to the realization that women enjoy being given compliments and enjoy being told what's going on. If this guy is not that type, then believe all you can do is sit him down and tell him straight up that you appreciate him being tough and strong, but you also would like to hear how he feels. Then give him some time, and if he still doesn't get the hint, then time to dump him. The irony is that the stronger guy is he who can express his emotions, and not be afraid of showing them; those who choose to hide it to show they are strong, are actually weak individuals cause if they were tough and strong, they would be mature enough to deal with expressing emotions and such. Ironic, huh?

Pushing him won't help. So, if you back off and make him come to you instead, he might be more likely to open up.

Yeah play hard to get and see what happens, and after you told him you could not read his mind what did he say? A sign of weakness are you in high school or is he some sort of commando type of guy?

Question Asker Hahaha well yesterday I pretty much told him that he is being immature and its pissing me off that he can't talk to me because he always talks to my best friend about it but not me and I told him that it is bullshit I also said that "i have nothing to say to you anymore" because I'm only 18 and I am more mature than he is about the situation so I am just gonna move on. right? - 7 months ago

Okay look at it from our point of view. You get to sit back and accept resumes from any guy that walks up to you. So you just sit back and pick out what you like from what you have to work with. Guys have to make all the moves. And I can personally say that I don't like this because I don't always get the desired results. He has to make it clear that he likes you, he has to ask you out, he has to-------well you get the picture. It is easier to do this stuff for girls we really don't like, but if we really like someone, we don't want to f*** up. And I completely agree with the weakness thing. I don't like to get all mushy and express how I feel because, okay, guys feel deep emotions too, so it would be kind of girly because there is no other way of expressing it. And plus, some guys actually do this and they get shut down. See that kind of sucks if a guy goes all out of his element to express himself and then he gets rejected. So he gets all girly and you rejected him? That will lower anybody's confidence and make them hesitant about showing their feelings. Toughness is best because toughness doesn't get hurt, it's tough. Feelings on the other hand can get hurt, so we only bring them out at the most critical of times. If he really likes you, which it sounds like he does, if you distance yourself, he'll try and get in contact with you. Remember, you've already accepted his resume, he just has to come in and accept the job :)
