this guy I know from work has been inviting me out for drinks A LOT lately its been about a week and a half and he's invited me out 3-4 times. at first he didn't pay for my drinks but the last few times we went out he's payed for my drinks, food, etc. and I'd have to say he's easily spent about 50 bucks on me and its not like this guy makes a lot of money. but where the confusing part comes in is he talks about his ex girlfriend and about meeting new girls and this really confuses me. Is he just being nice when he is paying for my drinks and food? It's not like were good friends and this is only the 3rd or 4th time we have hung out so I really don't know what to think. he's buying my drinks and coming off like he likes me but then talking about his ex and how he wants to find a girl... I am so confused. anyone have any idea?
Best case scenario - he's probably afraid to show you just how much he likes you. I'm sure that if he feels if he appears to eager that you will reject him. So he's letting you know that not only is he available but he was also in a relationship. That way you don't think he's a desperate loser who wears his heart on his sleeve. It's hard to find that perfect balance of cool but interested. I know that men have complained when they show too much interest too soon, the women get turned off. But if they appear too aloof, the women feel they don't have a chance. He's trying - let the poor guy know that you're interested if you are and settle his mind. Worst case scenario - he's an insensitive ass who feels you'll sleep with him if he spend money on you.
