Are promise rings special to the woman or are they just a symbol of love?

I don't know I guess women are - well we really don't like to play games so we tend to make the guy wear it too so another woman wouldn't hit on him same as the opposite to women!

I think that depends on the individual. Personally it's not my kind of thing, I think that love put into actions are a far better indicator of your love for her than a promise ring.
