I talk to this one girl all the time. She says we're only friends because she's not attracted to me yet. I have told her that if we didn't start a relationship then I wanted out of the friendship. She begged me not to that it just takes time. We've been talking since November. The last couple months I've texted her almost non-stop. Last month there were 9,000 texts between me and her. Every once and a while she says that she loves me and that she wants to date me but she won't ask till the next day. She'll say she has always liked me and she thinks she's ready. the next day she says she doesn't know what came over her and she doesn't want to date me anymore. She's done this about 5 times in two months. I don't know what she wants. She says she doesn't know what she wants. We're only 17, so I know its not time for a serious relationship yet. But I really want to date her. What should I do? Wait.
This girl is playing the typical mind game. She's flirting and retreating. She want to see how hard she can push you until you crumble. The trick is to resist. Start playing mind games of your own. Don't be there for her 24/7. Don't return all her texts. Be a little mysterious for gods sakes. Flirt with other girls to and if you find someone you like more then move on.
First of all, I hope the 9,000 texts was an exaggeration. That's ridiculous. Just call. Or wait to talk to her. How can you get anything done when you're sending 150 text messages per day?
Like dharness818 said, this is also making you a predictable safety net for her. Of course she doesn't have to commit to liking you or dating you. She knows you'll always be around. She knows every time she calls, texts, or even whispers, you'll be there in a split second. Give her some space and make her realize that you aren't just waiting around for her.
She either hasn't got a clue what she wants, or she is playing with you. Just back up and give her space and she what she does, she could also be throwing hints that's she is into you and what's you too ask her out instead. Just ask her and see what happens - 4 months ago
