My boyfriend has been really sweet lately and I want to do something nice for him, so I was thinking of buying a rose or something and taking him out for dinner, for a change.
Uh, me having sex with him and going down on him really isn't a gift, considering our sex life is pretty ..intense. At least once a day, always.
And, besides, my man, is thankfully, one of the few men who doesn't consider sex to be the most important thing in the world. - 4 months ago

OK my first answer was rude, obnoxious, and inappropriate. This idea just came to mind. If you want to do something special for your boyfriend find out what one of his favorite children's books was and buy it for him. It will be especially meaningful if it's a very old book that is hard to find. As a rule, boys generally liked books with really good illustrations. - 2 months ago
If someone gave me a rose, I would think its sweet but kinda useless. What am I going to do with this flower that will die in a few days? You should just do something he really enjoys and if you enjoy it too, its a plus. Dinner is also nice. ^^. "The way to a man's heart is through his stomach" -Fanny Fern
The problem with just doing something that he enjoys is we do these things all the time. He's a very simple sort of person. His interests are camping, which now that its warm out, we have plans to do constantly. Having a bottle of wine and getting dressed up, which we've done more times than I can even count, so I'm just looking for something simple and sweet that he won't find completely ridiculous and would appreciate. - 6 months ago
I am sure he'd appreciate the gesture, but to be honest you may want to think about what he loves to do (other than spend time with you) and do that with him. I am sure there is something about him that he enjoys that you don't completely get. If you make that effort it should mean a lot. Most guys appreciate a girl who at least attempts to be interested in the things we are into.
The things he enjoys are what I enjoy, and the few that I don't quite "get", I do with him anyhow, just as he deals with my things that he doesn't "get" (such as going to plays). He's completely bored by sports, so going to do "guy" things with him doesn't quite work. I can't think of anything else. - 6 months ago

Well unless you guys have something that is yours that you both enjoy doing together. You seem to have a solid plan. - 6 months ago
Leave the buying of flowers and dinners to the him. I suggest you buy him something that reflects an interest of his, it will show that your truly interested in him.
I just don't get why it's gender specific. I can't afford much, so any ideas on things that aren't very expensive? I don't want something that says "I'm trying to buy your affection", so nothing pricey, I just want something that's sort of a "thank you for being so great"/"I love you"/"I think we're equals" sort of thing. - 6 months ago
I'm not a guy, obviously, but I think that's a really cute idea. I don't see why your guy wouldn't like it. It's a sweet, simple way to let him know you care and appreciate him. I say go for it!
