There is this kid that I really like, he is in 9th grade and me 8th... He asked me to walk home with him a few times and he always talks to me on msn... the other day I asked him if he would ever like to go out with me and he said he wouldn't mind because I am the nicest girl he has ever met. And then he said that he does like me. So why doesn't he just ask me out already? He knows I like him a lot, I told him.
Some guys don't like to be pressured into things. He will ask on his own time. It is not like he doesn't like you back, he just wants it to be a surprise on you. It is not as fun if you tell him the ending to a story before he has time to read it. Let him do it when he is ready to commit the time to you.
By the way, you age is not matching your grade. an 18 to 24 year old 8th grade, lol!
Honey! you're still a little girl, looking back at my junior year in high school (5 years ago), my crush was still afraid of holding me when were at the prom!, my brother is a currently a junior in high school and he's the typical tall, football/wrestler jock and he won't tell anybody in the family about his girlfriend (we actually found out about her because of his friend slipped the news to my little sister!).
My point is that most likely it will take him a lot of courage to ask you out, I would suggest to let him do the work but here's how you can help, try hanging out with him and try to make him feel more comfortable with you so that he can finally ask you out, but let him do the work that way you'll help him realize that if he likes a girl he has to show it and put effort into it!.

You might think that it is the perfect time, and it just might be the perfect time, but if he is scared, he might not know how to take advantage of that time.
Maybe you should sit down and talk about it, or just talk about it on the way home. Maybe you could even ask him out. He may be a little dull, trust me, I know. My boyfriend and I JUST kissed yesterday, and I had to do it cause he was way to shy and only got hints and stuff like HOURS later. Just talk to him about it, it'll be fine - 6 months ago
