For a single mom of 21 years of age, where is a good place in chicago to meet a single guy?

SPORTS! Take your son to some football and baseball games such as the White Sox, the Bears or the Blackhawks. Get into sports and be serious about it. A man loves a woman who knows a quarterback from an outside linebacker. You don't have to paint your face and wear a team costume but just attending WITH YOUR SON often and attend regularly does the trick. I can't tell you how many guys would like to show your son how to roller blade, play baseball and be on the PlayStation. Professional sports is best if you can get tickets. College sports will show most men not taking note of you, at least not from students at your age. Older men who are season ticket holders would be the exception. Older as in mid 20's +

There are a few variable factors to consider. The most important is the age of your son. If he is still at toddler, this will adversely affect you but not at a devastating level. Once a boy is age 4 or so is when the guys take note. Other minor factors would include if you smoke, have a job, marriage minded and the like.
