Ok we have been dating almost 6 months. We haven't had the exclusive talk but we spend every weekend together. I had a big party planned for my birthday and invited him several weeks before. Not even an hour before my party he says he wants to know if we can just go to dinner on my actual birthday. I even had told him I just wanted to see him more than anything. My feelings are hurt. He gave me no reason why he couldn't come. I feel we need to have some discussion about where we stand. I am in love with him but am unsure if he is in love with me. By him "blowing off" my party made me feel like I am not as important to him as whatever he had to do. How should I approach this situation? Should I still plan to see him on my birthday?

Update: He has met my entire family. He came to my daughter's b-day party and Easter lunch. 5 months ago

I would say yes to still see him on your birthday, perhaps he has/had a good reason for not going maybe he gets nervous around big crowds, or maybe he was setting something up to surprise you, and maybe its something big pertaining to you and had to set it up that specific day. At the very least I think you should give him a chance to explain himself before just completely forgetting about him if you really love him.

Yeah I do agree that could be one reason I know I sure as hell wouldn't wanna meet my boyfriends family id be shitting it lol thank god for the single life lol - 5 months ago
