i have a friend and we used to go out last summer, and since we broke up we have stayed way way close friends, and recently we started hanging out again, and we have so much fun together. I do have a boyfriend, and he knows that, but we really are way great friends now. his family basically treats me as a daughter. he told me he still has feelings for me, and I think that in the future it could work out and we could date and stuff, do you think I should tell him this or what?

Don't tell him anything because you don't want to give him hope. He doesn't need any more of it. He chose to remain friend with you, it shows that he is still waiting for you. If you tell him that we'll date in the future then you going to make him not trying to date anyone else.
