Are you asking this because you think your a geek? awwww. But anyway, my answer is no. Money doesn't make me interested in any guy. Its if I'm attracted to the guy by their appearance and attitude.
I'd rather go for a guy who is poor and good looking than rich. Something about rich guys turns me off. I think it's because most of the rich boys from my school were all jerks, and way too into themselves.
Hell ya they will man if your a geek and rich you'll get women you get a bunch of gold diggers who just wanna spend your money. But I would a girl go for a geeky not rich guy or a an average guy who's not rich either, hands down they'll go for the average looking one over the geek, well at least the hot ones anyway. Think about it how many geeky guys do you see walking around with hot girls as their gf?
Money is rarely an attractive trait for women. If it is, then you've got yourself a pretty large red flag waiving in your face. Additionally, a man trying to show his wealthy or bring it up in conversation is try hard and a huge turnoff. A man of wealth and abundance doesn't have to show off because, well, people will pick up on things naturally on their own.
Now all that being said, income does have a bearing on women in how they perceive you because for many women a decent income shows you're not a bum and won't be relying on them for support. That's the only time in my book having some standards when it comes to money and career is understandable.
