I've been talking to this guy for about a month now. Last week he got laid off from his job and I can tell that the stress is kind of getting to him. I tried verbally encouraging him but I think I went out it like I was talking to one of the girls and not a guy. LOL. I want to find a way to cheer him up this weekend that's not highly expensive (so he doesn't feel bad). I was thinking of maybe going over to his place and cooking dinner for him but I don't know. Any suggestions?

Whoa, cooking dinner for him? That would be awesome. I'd totally cheer up if a girl offered to do that. Of course, part of it depends on your skills as a cook, but if you're up to the challenge, it sounds like a great idea.

Question Asker I've been told that I am a pretty good cook so I think I will take a stab at it. Thanks! :-) - 3 months ago

Well you can do that. You two can also rent movies and watch them. Funny or romantic ones. I also know guys like sports and action. Try to also talk to him about as many cool and positive things. It would not hurt for you to share with him some good places that you know of that he could probably apply for jobs at. Only discuss that if he is up to it though. Also rub his back and give him massages so you can relieve some of his stress and tension. Give him hugs and tell him how much you care for him. Tell him he is great no matter what bad things come his way and through every negative thing that happens five positive things can happen after it. If you are religious pray for him. Let God handle his tough situation because God never gives us anything to difficult or more than we can handle. Be a positive support for him as much as possible during this trying time in his life.

Question Asker Thanks. He has three degrees so my expertise on helping him get a job in the IT field are not too good. LOL. I am definitely praying for him and I'll rent some funny movies. I just want to take his mind off of the stress. :-) He had a job interview the other day and I can tell it has been on his mind constantly. Thank you again for the advice. - 3 months ago
Answerer You're welcome. And I wish both of you the very best and I hope he gets the job! Hey by the way. could you read one of my questions and give an answer? I like to give people advice on the site but people rarely give me advice - 3 months ago
