People I haven't known for very long, because I refuse to risk my long-term close friendships for an unsure relationship. Besides if we were meant to go together we would have realized it long before. And when you date people you just met, you won't know what to expect, so there's the element of surprise:D
I prefer someone I don't know as well. A friend would just feel weird especially if I already know him, a new guy would be better because I'd be getting to know what he likes and doesn't, and if I don't like like him, it can be easier to say, "I'm not interested"
