Homecoming is November 3rd and I really want this guy to ask me, but time is running out and I don't know if he will. When my best friend asked him who he was asking he said I don't know. Then when she asked what about some of his friends he said no to all except me, he wouldn't answer for me. Then a few days later she asked again and he said "I would, but she is scared of me." She told him that I wasn't scared and he said "you don't know what I mean." Then she told him that if he asked me I would say yes, then he said "really!"
Do you think he will ask me or what should I do to get him to ask me?

Very good idea by the other guy. Don't flat out ask him but create the perfect opportunity for him to ask you. "So hey do you have a date to the dance?" "Hey, are you ready for homecoming?"... you get the point. But if you never take the chance, that is a for sure way not to get him to ask.
Just approach him and ask if he's looking forward to the dance or some other closely related question. If he doesn't ask you right then, tell him you're not sure if you're going or not, but you'd like to. Girls have used the "passive" approach on me many times and I'm glad they did. Or if you're inclined, just ask him. If you do ask, try to expect a negative response so you don't react funny if he turns you down.
