Why do guys like asking girls out for drinks? During the initial dating stage when you're supposed to be getting to know each other... I welcome your honest opinions... is it all about sex?
Normally when a guy ask you out for drinks it doesn't necessarily mean he just wants to get you drunk and sleep with you, if he does, then he will want you to drink a lot to where you get drunk, but just going for one drink or two he just wants to take you out to have a good time, plus alcohol makes a person feel more relaxed. But be careful on how much you drink and or him, because when your both drunk we all know where that can lead.
He asks her for a drink because he wants to ask her out somewhere to get to know her. So, having a drink makes it easy to open up to someone to get to know what they are like.
90% of the time a guy won't pay to get to know a girl he wouldn't have sex with. That doesn't mean we only get to know girls for sex. Dating is fun, taking a girl out is just something you wanna do sometimes, even if we aren't going to hit home plate.
We ask girls out for drinks because we like to drink. Other popular choices are, unsurprisingly, other shit we like to do, such as movies or coffee or dinner. Drinks do have the added bonus of getting a girl more comfortable with going home, but honestly a few drinks really helps us relax and talk easier, particularly in a dating situation when we could get nervous. It's much more a social lubricant than a sexual one, though we don't mind either effect.
I've never asked a girl out for a drink, but I imagine that guys who do probably think that it's something the girl would appreciate. Some girls feel more comfortable in a place they know well, and occasionally that place happens to be the atmosphere of a bar. It also gives the guy a chance to prove that he can provide at least a small degree of financial security, since it's usually expected that he will be purchasing the drinks.
Personally, I enjoy coffee houses from time to time, and little things like that.
I'm not big on a busy club, bar, or restaurant. I don't drink a lot ( I don't like the taste, plus I'm usually in charge of driving, and I don't drink when I'll be on the road). You also tend to have to yell over people if there's loud music...
A movie is not a good first date because with most movie houses, you have to be quiet. Not always a great way for me to get to know a woman, by sitting in silence, although you CAN figure out a few things... (what she finds funny, for example.)
It's not always about sex, but some guys might have that idea in their heads. Drinks help people (generally speaking) "loosen up" in conversation, and it makes some people feel less nervous.
Drinks relax people and make conversation easier. They can also help people loosen up their inhibitions - not just sexually but in terms of opening up to a new person. It certainly could be a crass attempt to get a girl to make a bad decision, but it isn't always that way.
No it's not always about sex but sometimes it is. Though many people are like me in that I am a social drinker which means that I drink when I am being social or talking to someone. I drink with both my friends and girlfriends, but it is definitely not something that I force on anyone and if someone did that to me then I would not go.
So yes, we all say that women are equal to men and that they can do everything that guys can, yet why is it some 90 something percent of women that I...

Describe your ideal first date; Where do you go? What do you wear? How does the date end?
We would go to the movies, then to an ice cream shop. I would wear a white hollister tank top like in the picture and jeans. In the end I would give you a long hug then maybe a quick kiss if we hit it off well.
Afterwards..what will your date know about you?
