K, so I just go back from studying with this guy. We studied and then we hung out for a while and he messed around on his guitar. Then he was like, well, I'm gonna go take a shower because me and some buddies are going to this show tonight, you can come if you want. Txt me if you wanna go.
Update: He ditched me. So yup, obviously he didn't really want me there. W/e. Whole story: He txted me on the way to the show and let me know that some guys picked him up and that there was no room for me.

No, it's just "hanging out." A date would be just the two of you or maybe another couple. I'd go, but take a friend because he will have his friends with him and you don't want to come across like you're going JUST FOR HIM. Besides, it helps to have a girlfriend in situations that are awkward like this one is for you. Just go and have a good time!
