now, I don't want any lectures from people 30 or 40 years old, sorry but I don't if you would like to answer, great! ok so ya, I'm young and I'm a freshman, weird thing about me is, I'm really attracted to 8th grade guys and sophomores, but not any freshman, is that weird and guys if you were younger and a girl older than you liked you, would you think that's weird, or a good thing. what about if she's younger than you?
it's not weird, in high school I had a lot of girl friends who were in my grade but I viewed them as just that, friends, than in a romantic way. Because of this I dated a girl from every other grade but mine
I always say that age is just a number. It's more the maturity of the two people and how well you get along. I've personally been generally more attracted to women older so I wouldn't find it weird if an older girl liked me. Granted, the rarity of that can make it just a little surprising since the culture mostly seems to support the guy being older and the woman being younger but not the other way around. But when it comes down to it, it's all how you feel about the person not his or her age. Well, OK, yes there is the exception if one person is an adult and the other a kid. So to clear that up, what it comes down to is the legality of the age difference and the feelings you have for the other person and him/her you. A one or two difference isn't a big deal, and it isn't weird if either of the two people were older/younger.
I'm honestly only really attracted to older guys. so no, in my opinion you're not weird. Maybe an early cougar? Haha, nah but seriously, everyone's got their own personal preference. And it's common not to date other guys your age, or at least that's the way it seems to me. The couples I've seen in my schools have hardly ever been from the same grade.
So. do you really think it's the age difference? or is it just the specific people you meet?
But, it kinda makes sense: both older and younger guys have unique things to offer. Older guys tend to be more interesting and know more about how to treat a girl. It's really normal for girls to date guys who are older: that's part of every culture in the world. Relationships are more likely to succeed when the guy's a bit older than the woman.
Dating guys who are younger can be attractive, especially to someone your age, because it can help you feel in control, and they can seem really cute. I think these relationships often don't last, but can be a good learning experience. And it might be just what is right for you: you never know.
You're at an age where it's really healthy to try things out and see what works, without taking any of it *too* seriously. Follow your heart--and stay away from seventh graders and seniors. :-)
Thanks, that really helps im glad you didn't lecture me ya don't worry, seventh graders would be me dating my little brothers friends yuck! and seniors scare me a little, they always look like theyr'e gonna rape you er somethin! - 2 months ago

Oh, I think people who lecture teenagers are usually clueless. We can all learn from each other if we get over being superior or thinking we're more different than we really are.
Being older teaches you some things you can share, but the really big things in life (relationships, what to do with yourself, what it all means, etc) are really pretty much the same whether you're 13 or 50. I'm 28, and I still blush, bite my lip and say stupid stuff when I'm surprised by a cute guy! :-)
