I'm asian and been dating asian guys for years not until recently I met a Greek guy and liked him very much. I'm not sure if I've been too sensitive or anything whenever we were in public places I tend to get a lot of stares and it's also a bit weird for me when I hang out with his group of friends while I was the only asian among the crowds.sometimes I do get annoyed by not being able to express myself well because of the different native languages we spoke but many of my friends think that shouldn't be stand in the way if we truelly like each other. My question is whether the relationship is likely to sustain when dating people from different cultural backgrounds?
If you like this guy, your different ethnicities will be as big or little an issue as you make it.
One of my best friends is Korean, and he always used to assume his nationality was a big deal. He was oversensitive about it. But now he knows its only part of him, and that if a girl turns him down for a date she's not a racist, and if he's not hired for a job it's not necessarily because his race had anything to do with it.
There's no reason to assume people were staring at you because you were the only asian person in the group -- perhaps you were the cutest girl in the group, or the group was being loud, or someone liked your skirt.
Yeh I guess I overthought it a bit but its only becoz I care about this guy and want to move further step wif him. I so agreed with what you said about your korean friends sometimes it happened to me too but I know it's wrong because shouldn't second doubt yourself for who you are. neway thanks for ur answer :). - 2 months ago
