He wants to show you that he has nothing to hide and that he is not dating anyone else. In other words he is into you but does not want to pressure you in to dating him exclusively. He wants you to see that he is open and honest with nothing to hide. He hopes that you will respond in a similar fashion but wants you to make that decision pressure free. I think it's a good thing.
