Well my parents are 12 years apart, my ma being the older of the two. She has a problem with thinking she knows everything being that she has 12 years more experience with life than he does. But he always says he loves everything about her so they are doing good.
I'd guess then, long-term, he's looking for someone who matches his personality, that he can love and start a family with someday. Short-term he may be looking for fun times on weekends and support for his new career.
