Is asking out a girl on a phone a good idea?

I'm pretty sure that's a clear sign of "leave me alone". Talking over the phone, and especially texting, is NO way to actually know a person.

Move on. There's a whole world out there and definitely many single ladies looking for a descent guy. She's not into it so don't pursue her any further, if she was she would have accepted your 'Invitation'. And, yes asking someone out over the phone is not only pretty standard but perfectly acceptable, but I urge guys to avoid texting or email, that's just lame.

Yes you can ask a girl out over the phone. She isn't going to reach through the phone and try to hurt you. I have asked girls out over the phone and gotten an answer. It's all about if she wants to go out with you a.k.a. if she has ANY interest in you. Maybe next time is her way of trying to set you down without hurting your feelings. If she had any interest she would've said yes or said I want to go out with you. How long did you know her before calling her and asking her out? Sounds like you met her, and 1,2,3 sprung the question on her.
