I disagree with the other answers, I think it's really sweet but only if the two people are actually in love and totally trust one another. But I think promise rings have become too common so id prefer something that's special between me and my boyfriend and that would mean something to only us two.

Personally, I would never wear one.
I think it's pointless, because (in my eyes) you're making an empty promise.
You just never know what will happen.
