For me where ever I go it has to be some place where it allows for conversations as well. Just going to a movie would be horrible because you'd have nothing to talk about. But if you go to the movie and then go to eat you can at least discuss what you thought about the movie. As for what kind of restaurant, I don't think it matters for dating as long as you both like the food.
Another big issue is is it the first date, second, or some third date and on? If it's after the second date your options increase a lot more.
But options I would like would be: the zoo, some nature park, some kind of dinner theater if they are available, etc. Think of going on a date a little like going on vacation. Think of the places you could go, nothing expensive or anything, in your town you can have fun at and share with another person. Plus there are lots of fun activities that don't involve going anymore more than the park or if you lucky enough to live by a body of water the "beach." (I used the quotes because I'm not necessarily talking about like an ocean beach.)
I will admit I never thought really about going to an amusement park for a date, but that may also be that I don't live anywhere near an amusement park to go to easily.
I went to the zoo once as a day date before we went out to eat; I have to say it was an awesome time. It was an Aquarium, more than a complete zoo, but it was fun. - 11 months ago

If there was ever an Aquarium for me to go to I'd go there too. It sucks to live in the smaller towns/cities. - 11 months ago
