I am confused. I have known this guy for a couple of years - he used to date a acquaintance of mine. A couple of months after they broke up (about a month ago) we started talking several times a day through my space, then texting. Then we started hanging out. This past week we have hung out several times- with my friends/his friends and a couple of times at his house. In fact every day off he has he calls to hang out. The confused comes in here. A few days ago when we were leaving a friends he kind of awkwardly half hugged me and said see you later. A couple of days ago I was at his house helping him study, we played a little footsie and I thought we almost kissed but my phone rang. Yesterday he invited me to his house to watch movies with him and his brother. He laid on one couch, I sat on another and his brother was in a chair. No attempt to get close to me. When it came time to leave his brother gave me a hug, he just said "see ya later" and I showed myself out of his house. I am not very forward with my affections for fear of him just wanting to be friends. I was feeling a little more comfortable but after yesterday I don't know. How do I read this one - am I wrong in thinking he likes me for more than a friend?
Either he's too shy to make a move, or he only wants to be friends. Sounds like you'll just have to have the courage to ask him what he wants. You can't keep on having to guess what's in his mind. I hope it works out for you.
The problem is that you said you've been hanging out, but with his friends or your friends. Question would be, when he calls asking to hang out, does he say, 'my friends and I are doing something, why don't you join? " Cause it appears that he is not gutsy enough to ask you out to just hang out with him. It could be that he thinks that you are just hanging out cause there are others around. Have you asked him to hang out? Cause it seems he might need a hint that you wouldn't mind hanging out only with him. As far as the other incident in the house, looks like he is playing it very safe, cause why not just ask you to watch a movie with him only?
No, since we are in our early 20's and are going through school we both are living at home still. He calls earlier in the day and ask me to hang out. With our work schedules by the time one gets off work the other one is usually at a friends house. - 8 months ago
