Ok there is this shy guy that I have liked for a ridiculously long period of time. LOL. Anyway, I saw him yesterday and he was sitting in front of me. I noticed that he kept sneaking glances and one time our eyes met he looked away real fast. This guy knows that I like him and I know he likes me (long story) but it seems like he gets extra scared around me although I have caught him staring a few times. LOL. Will a guy be this scared even after he knows you like him?

Yeah he's nervous and if your good looking it doesn't help his stress level. It's not easy for guys to approach women. We fear rejection just like women do. And more damaging for us because of that ego we all have. Punch a man in his ego with some "your not good enough" rejection action and watch him crumble. He may know that your interested in him HE STILL DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO "OPEN" YOU. Its actually worse now than if you were a complete stranger. Now he feels like he has to be perfect in what he says to make sure this across the room attraction goes to the next step. I'm wishing well on this guy for you. I just hope he doesn't come up to you and say " excuse me. "

Question Asker It's crazy too because all my friends are telling me to forget about him and calling him a "weirdo" but I just think he's really scared. Guys do come up to me a lot and maybe that's another reason why he's scared. I'm not giving up though. Thanks! - 9 months ago

Oh ya it's very possible. He doesn't want you to catch him looking at you, as he thinks you'll take his harmless advances way too far. That and maybe he doesn't Know you like him like you seem to think he does. Sometimes shy guys are very stubborn and hard believers when it comes to believing a girl could actually like them, or have feelings for them. My advice to you is don't just nudge the issue bring I up somehow and let him know your feelings, stop implying. Then see where things go, he'll be nervous at first but just get him to open up once and you won't be able to shut him up. ;)

Question Asker Thank you so much! The thing about it is he talks freely to other girls it's just me that he clams up with. LOL. I'll definitely take your advice. :) - 9 months ago
Answerer That shows that he likes you. If he talks freely with others. Yet stammers with you, it's because he's nervous that he'll mess up in something he's saying. The only reason I've ever done that is because I liked a girl. - 3 months ago

Yep, specially if he likes you and doesn't want to mess up his chances, even more reason to get nervous. Been there myself, and it sucked! :)

Question Asker Do you guys ever consider that "taking the chance" is better than "losing a chance?" I think he believes that his chances with me have expired. I may just go up and talk to him since he looks like a deer in the headlights. LOL. Thanks for the advice! - 9 months ago
Answerer When you got no confidence or no skills, you don't even know how to approach, or you are dreaming of the perfect opportunity to strike but since there is no confidence, it never happens. - 9 months ago

There is an old saying in Japan:

"If pushing does not work, try pulling".

If he lacks the guts to approach you, you go to him. That simple. In doing so, it assures him that you are ok with being with him and that interaction is ok.

My guess is that either he's a wimp, he's inexperienced, or he's trying to protect himself from sexual harassment. Yep, you heard that correctly. Nothing worse than the fear of approaching a woman and get sued for harassment because he THOUGHT you liked him.

Been there, seen that, gone through it. Zero fun.

Not your fault, it's just the times. Because of it, I personally haven't asked a woman out in 7 years.

sexwiseman Oh god! Sexual harassment! Even the so called 'cold' Britons are so much more relaxed than the paranoid Americans when it comes to this! - 9 months ago
Question Asker Some very uptight women have ruined it for us all. :( Thanks for the advice and trust me, not every woman is a lawsuit waiting to happen. LOL :) - 9 months ago

Yes, he can! He is probably so enamored with you and your personality, he doesn't want to do or say anything that would possibly turn you off! Take it slow, and be honest with him about it. Talk to him. Feel him out on the issue! Kinda like when you're a kid and the guy that likes you is mean to you. Ya know? Hope all works out! Good Luck!

Question Asker If only he knew how enamored I was with him! LOL. Thanks for the advice. I think I'm going to go up to him and say hi when I see him. - 9 months ago
