I have know this guy for about 1 year. I really like him but I am not sure if he likes me. He did tell me he was talking to his grandmother about me and she told him to ask me out but he didn't. Then a coworker of mine asked him one day when we were going to go out. He said I don't know so she asked me when I wanted to go out with him. He stood there smiling from ear to ear. Do you think he likes me? Should I tell him how I feel and maybe even ask him out?
Maybe he wanted to know what you thought of the prospect of dating him, if you laughed in his face and said "that's ridiculous!" then he would count that as a no and not ask you out, but it might have been an opportunity for you to express an interest in him.
Since his reply to "when are you guys gonna go out? " was "I don't know" rather than "Never! " or "We're just friends. " I say ask him out. Some men are just too shy to make that first move and it's up to us females to initiate! It definitely sounds like he likes you most guys who don't like a female in that way cop out with the we're just friends reply!

Describe your ideal first date; Where do you go? What do you wear? How does the date end?
I would do a lot of things. Start out with an early dinner at a good pub. Then head out to see a good movie, afterwards heading to the clubs. Basically the goal is to get to know her in a variety of settings to find out what she's like.
