I have known this guy for about a year and we have been really good friends. But these last couple of months we have been more then friends. He has been coming up to me and giving me hugs and texting me to stay after school and stuff. I think that is very sweet of him. So during Valentines Day I put a note in his locker saying how I felt about him without my name on it. About 10 days later I get a text from him during class asking "I have a question, did you leave me a letter on my locker for v-day? ".
I answered with, "it depends what did you think of it? ". OK so then he texted me and said "you know I like you. " and I texted back saying "you prob. Know I like you too". Then next day we talked a lot more. But he still didn't ask me out. Lastly he gave me a kiss on the cheek today. And I'm totally confused! We are not even going out. Or are we? What should I do?

He sounds really shy and doesn't know how to express himself. But if he is around you this long and he asked if you put the note in his locker -so that if he asked you first amongst other people - I'd say he said that he likes you, and he was hoping that you put it there. He just sounds inexperienced and doesn't want to make the wrong move. So you may need to try to make things from friendly to an intimate-type setting (less of you other friends around, and more of just you and him) and sit next to him, and get closer to him the next time you are hanging out watching movies or tv, see what he does. If he doesn't budge, you may have to speak up and ask him out, or something to get him thinking more that way.

He said he likes you, not the other girl - so I would go for it. I wouldn't hold back after you've come this far. Just take it in steps, like, if you have to. Try holding his hand and see how he takes it, or put your arm around his, things like that. - 10 months ago
